She grabbed international recognition and praise when she gave the world one of its most memorable moments in the history of sports - scoring the first-ever perfect 10 on bars that were symmetrical during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. In addition, Comaneci had six other perfect 10s, making her, at fourteen years old, the youngest Olympic medallist in every category. Nadia Comaneci not only attracted the attention of others, but she also helped Romania become a household name. Through achieving a feat which was impossible to achieve and a sporting legend, she brought gymnastics into the spotlight of the world's attention. Women's perception of gymnasts was changed by her performances. Such was her impact on her participation in the Olympics that the uneven bars contest includes two movements named in honor of her - toe-on and release move, which remain considered to be at an extremely difficult and level. Apart from the Olympics, she also showed remarkable performance during every single event, including her World Championships & European Championships. In the end, she became a legendary gymnast and one of most well-known athletes the world has ever witnessed.
